How it works

What Lorem ipsum is

Lorem ipsum has been the most common placeholder text in design and printing for centuries. It comes from a text by Cicero (De finibus bonorum et malorum) with its words cut and shuffled, so it looks like Latin but cannot be read. That is the point: people looking at a mock-up notice the layout, not the content.

How to use it

Choose paragraphs, sentences or words and how many. By default the text starts with the classic sentence “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit”, which many people recognise as filler; turn it off for a random start. The Generate button creates a different text; switching between plain text and HTML does not.

The HTML output wraps each paragraph in <p>, ready to paste into a template or a CMS. You can also download it as a .txt or .html file.
